Kristen Villebrun and Wendy Bush hoped they wouldn't have to pray for Chedoke Creek, but four years after they first raised alarm about the water's condition, they were part of an Indigenous full moon ceremony to do just that. About 50 people showed up near Princess Point on the dark and frigid Monday evening for the monthly ceremony, which was particularly special as it focused on Chedoke Creek. The body of water that runs into Cootes Paradise had about 24 billion litres of sewage and storm water runoff leak into it due to a gate being left open.
Grade 6 students at a west-end London, Ont. school had an out-of-this-world experience Thursday when they got the opportunity to control a lunar rover model. Students in Madame Mandy Lave’s class at West Oaks French Immersion Public School were tasked to work as a team to find evidence of water on a moon-like surface using a model of a lunar rover designed to go to the moon as early as 2026.

Today, Kate Young, Member of Parliament for London West, on behalf of the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, announced that the Government of Canada is investing $5.9 million from environmental fines into Let's Talk Science. With this funding, Let's Talk Science will engage over 600,000 youth across Canada in climate science awareness and action through regional events, action projects, hands-on activities and a suite of digital resources, including career information.
