Yes! I Would Like to Help Educate Students about Drinking Water Quality Issues and Solutions!

As little as $76.50 can MEANINGFULLY CHANGE THE PATH OF DRINKING WATER QUALITY IN YOUR COMMUNITY AND in OTHER COMMUNITIES.

Our Mission: We will educate the leaders of today and tomorrow about drinking water quality issues to realize our goal of safe drinking water being available to every Canadian.

Over past generations, our children have been the catalyst for change, especially in relation to environmental issues from air pollution, recycling, and now unsafe water.

As an educated member of society, you likely have positive experiences from school that you still remember to this day. Make memorable learning experiences possible for students in a school near you now!

Please consider giving monthly donations as they will provide you with many advantages:

  • You do not have to try to remember when the last time was that you gave a donation, you do not have to think about it - except when you remember the good that you are doing!

  • You will know that you are helping teachers and students every month. It is a convenient and enjoyable way to make the world a better place.

  • Your donation will have a greater impact because it saves administrative time and enables us to budget more effectively.

SDWF is in need of donors to continue to educate students, engineers, community leaders and others. Agencies, foundations, corporations, institutions and individuals can not only provide monetary support but also in-kind support to SDWF.

Are you involved in an organization (for example, a company, a foundation, or a community group) that would like to donate more funds and be recognized for your generosity?

We recognize donors of any amount from $76.50 to over $10,000. There are different ways that we share information about your generosity based on the level of your gift. Please phone us at 1.306.934.0389 or email us at info@safewater.org if you would like to discuss possibilities.

Why Donate?

As a Canadian, you know about the problems related to drinking water in our very own developed country. We are creating a new generation of Canadians who will understand the issues, who will be smarter voters, and who will not stand on the sidelines when there are 1000 drinking water advisories in Canada.

At any given time, there are approximately 1000 drinking water advisories in place across Canada. There are many long-term boil water advisories in place in First Nations communities. An alarming number of rural and First Nations communities do not have access to safe drinking water. Please help remedy this situation.

If you are a parent, you know what it feels like to try to keep your children safe. As a parent, if you have safe drinking water, you might take being able to fill a glass with water from the tap and feel safe giving it to your child for granted. Many First Nations children live in First Nations communities with drinking water advisories. These children do not know what it is like to be able to drink a glass of water straight from the tap.

As someone who understands the importance of education, help provide students with educational programs to develop critical thinking skills, which will empower them to become active members of their community.

Working in a First Nations School is very rewarding and yet challenging when it comes to resources. Our students are very enthusiastic to learn about the water quality in their environment; this desire to learn became a reality when the Safe Drinking Water Foundation (SDWF) provided us sponsored kits which we used in the classroom to perform experiments on water testing. To my surprise, one of our students made it to the Canada-Wide Science Fair 2017 in Regina, Saskatchewan after doing a science project related to Water Quality in our community. Thank you SDWF for the opportunity!

It is great. Thank you so much for everything we have received from you. The supplies and equipment are wonderful, well prepared, easy to use for teaching in the lab settings.
— Christina S. and Dorota P., St. Joseph High School, Edmonton, AB
The materials provided are thorough and truly excellent. I do not have any suggestions for improvement.
— Chrissy M., Waterdown District High School, Waterdown, ON
This is an awesome resource that is otherwise difficult to source. I can’t think of an improvement for this fabulous program - Thanks!
— Paul H., Sunningdale Public School, Oakville, ON
These kits really add to our classroom learning experience. Of course there are always cutbacks, so the fact that we can access these kits through sponsorships is so very appreciated. I have to get creative with using the kits provided because I teach science to 150 students in grade 8.
— Haley C., R. Ross Beattie Senior Public School, Timmins, ON
Excellent resource. With school budgets being very thin, this is a great resource being provided for us.
— Lee V., Stanley Knowles School, Winnipeg, MB
The kits really help our efforts to increase hands-on real time learning. I didn’t even have a pH meter before!
— Hayley T., Edison School, Okotoks, AB
The materials were simple to use and reliable. The students enjoyed using the digital meters.
— Amy C., Sussex Regional High School, Sussex, NB
This is a fantastic opportunity to teach students about the source of their water and using it sustainably.
